A number of permits, licenses and certificates are required to import certain products or types of products into Grenada. These approvals are generally issued by Government departments or agencies as a means of ensuring that imports (and in some cases exports) meet standards and requirements in terms of quality, safety, protection of domestic agriculture, environmental protection and other policy requirements. Organizations seeking duty and tax concessions are also required to obtain approvals in advance of actual import operations. This section describes the various procedures and requirements involved in obtaining these approvals.
